This is the latest Valentino Rossi design from AGV helmets, now available in their AGV Corsa range.
The design is called ‘Soleluna’ and it is a replica of the primary helmet design that Valentino Rossi has been racing with during the 2015 and 2015 MotoGP seasons.
The Soleluna was also released as a Limited Edition complete with Rossi’s full Monster Energy sponsorship logos in the premium AGV Pista GP range.
The Soleluna was designed by Aldo Drudi, who is responsible for all of Valentino Rossi’s helmet designs throughout his career. It features the dual motifs of a Sun and a Moon, that Valentino Rossi has had featured on pretty much all of his helmets – the Sun and the Moon are supposed to represent the two sides of Valentino’s personality. The Sun is featured at the front of the helmet and rises up above the visor, and the rays of the sun spread back towards the rear of the helmet, where they cross over a dark crescent moon that is positioned directly at the rear.
On each side of the base of the helmet, Rossi’s race number ’46’ can be seen.
This is an incredible looking lid that is bursting with colour and life, and is really eye-catching on the road.
This has become an iconic Valentino Rossi helmet design, and it takes inspiration from two other of Rossi’s helmets, the ‘Elements‘ and the ‘5 Continents‘, that also featured a similar layout of having the Sun at the front and the Moon at the rear.
Valentino Rossi had some fun with this iconic design during the 2013 MotoGP test sessions and flipped the design, so the Moon was at the front and the rear featured the Sun and a graphic of Valentino’s face peering out of the visor – check it out here.
The AGV Corsa range is a bit more affordable than the Pista GP range and it is a much more forgiving and flexible helmet to ensure it is suitable for everyday road use, but it still retains many of the premium features that you would get in the Pista range. Make no mistake this is a quality helmet that equally at on the road as it is at high speed track days.
