AGV Corsa R Valentino Rossi Goodwood helmet

AGV Corsa R Rossi Goodwood

AGV Corsa R Rossi Goodwood

This is a beautiful looking Valentino Rossi replica helmet that is now available in the new AGV Corsa GP helmet range.

You may not recognise this helmet design as Rossi has never worn it for a MotoGP race – it was worn for the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed that Rossi attended to mark the 60th anniversary of Yamaha’s involvement in motorcycle racing.

The design used many of the classic colours and motifs from the early years of Yamaha’s factory racing team, using the black, yellow, and white colourway that was famously associated with Kenny Roberts.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Misano 2015 Shark helmet

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Misano 2015 Shark helmet

AGV are releasing the Valentino Rossi ‘Watch Out For Sharks’ helmet design that Rossi used during the 2015 Misano MotoGP. The helmet features a small yellow fish positioned at the front that is being chased by a huge shark who is right behind it.

The fish represents Valentino Rossi and the Shark represents all the other racers (mostly Jorge Lorenzo) who are out to beat Rossi at his home race. Valentino was leading the Championship when he arrived for the Misano MotoGP in 2015, and the helmet design was supposed to indicate the pressure he was under for his home race.

It’s a beautiful design and it will be very popular with fans. AGV are releasing this Valentino Rossi replica helmet as a Limited Edition in ther Corsa range, which means it will be a great collectors item.

The Corsa is a premium helmet from AGV that basically combines the performance of the Pista GP (their race spec helmet) with the characteristics and flexibility needed for road use.

The Corsa has the performance of the Pista GP and the characteristics of a helmet for road use.

Official Description:

The shell in CAAF (Carbon-Aramidic-Fiberglass) was designed using FEM techniques (Finite Elements Analysis) and features EPS internal ducts in the shell to provide a small, light helmet which is both comfortable and extremely safe. The result is a helmet that is significantly superior than the limits set by ECE standards and that weighs just 1340 g (refers to MS size ECE 2205 version).

Unlike the Pista GP, the Corsa comes with a system for opening and closing the air vents which makes it a less extreme, more versatile helmet. The entire ventilation system was designed using computational fluid dynamic modelling and wind tunnel tests. This helmet is highly efficient at removing heat and moisture from the rider’s head. Thanks to its large rear spoiler, the Corsa boasts first class performance in terms of aerodynamic penetration and high speed stability. Overall, the visor aperture is 9% bigger meaning a 15° improvement in vision which obviously enhances the active safety factor.

The fit of the Corsa was developed using “Human Engineering” whereby the design starts from the surfaces in contact with the wearer’s head. The inside of the helmet starts with a concave 3D structure that is pre-shaped to match the contours of the rider’s head and any surfaces in contact with the head are stitch-free. The Lycra® and Shalimar® sanitized internal components are fully adjustable due to the fact that the position and depth of the crown pad can be modified as can the thickness of the cheek pads.

The combination of these solutions, which are covered by three separate patents, make the Corsa fit the different cranial shapes as never before.

RACE2 scratch resistant and anti-fog visor (4 layers) with wide field of vision, with 100% UV protection, suitable for Pinlock inserts and tear-off (that come as standard). Visor in compliance with the Class 1 optical standard, measuring up to 3.3mm thick.

Features:

  • Outer shell is in CAAF Carbon Fibre, Aramid fibre and Glassfibre
  • EPS Inner shell in 4 sizes
  • IVS Integrated Ventilation System with wide channels hollowed directly in the shell and holes for direct air flow
  • Wind Tunnel Optimised Ventilation System
  • 3 front vents and 1 chin vent
  • 2 rear extractors
  • Air vents with open/close mechanism
  • Large rear spoiler wind tunnel optimised to maximise aerodynamic performance
  • Spoiler designed to detach in the event of an accident to increase the passive safety of the helmet
  • New visor mechanism in metal with swivel opening
  • Quick release system for tool free removal and replacement of the visor in seconds

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2015 Helmet (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2015 Helmet (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2015 Helmet (Limited Edition)

This is the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2015 Helmet which is now available in Limited Edition numbers.

Valentino Rossi first used this helmet during the first MotoGP winter test session for 2015. The winter test took place in Sepang in the usual sweltering conditions, so Rossi chose to inject a bit of humor to the proceedings by using a helmet design based on a woolly Christmas hat. Rossi even brought a proper woolly winter hat (in the same design as his helmet) with him to Sepang.

Valentino Rossi winter hat

The helmet was designed by longtime Rossi helmet collaborator, Aldo Drudi, and it features the recognizable yellow and blue colour scheme of Valentino Rossi. The helmet is patterned with various Christmas and winter icons, all made to look like they were knitted around the helmet.

The crown of the helmet features a giant yellow snowflake, and further down the helmet are two further rows of blue ‘cable-knitted’ snowflakes. Inbetween these rows of knitted snowflakes are rows of knitted reindeer, and a row of knitted Christmas tress that run around the base of the helmet.

The rear sides of the helmet feature Rossi’s number 46……made to look like it has been knitted in to the helmet.

Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2015

This is one of Rossi’s most eyecatching Winter Test helmets.

AGV have now released this design as a Limited Edition in the Corsa helmet range. The Corsa has the performance of the Pista GP (which is the helmet model that Rossi races in) and the characteristics of a helmet for road use. And as an extra bonus, AGV have included a woolly hat in the same style that Rossi wore with each order of this limited edition helmet.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi ‘Wish You Were Here’ Helmet

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi 'Wish You Were Here' Helmet

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi 'Wish You Were Here' Helmet

The is the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi ‘Wish You Were Here’ Helmet, also known as the ‘Wish’ helmet, which has now been released in the Corsa range.

This is a very special Valentino Rossi helmet design and it was created as a tribute to his close friend, and fellow MotoGP racer, Marco Simoncelli who was killed during the Sepang MotoGP in 2011.

Rossi unveiled this helmet at the Misano round of the 2013 MotoGP season. Ever since MotoGP returned to Misano in 2008, Valentino Rossi has had a custom helmet design created to celebrate the fact that this is his home race….literally, as the town of Tavullia where he was born is only a few miles up the road from the circuit.

Bringing this helmet tribute to the Misano MotoGP also held a deeper significance – Simoncelli was also a local, he was born in Cattolica, a seaside town a few miles away from the circuit, and the Misano circuit was renamed the ‘Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli’ in 2011 as a tribute to him.

The helmet was design by Aldo Drudi and it features the album cover for Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish you Were Here’. The top of the helmet features the robot arms, and the rear of the helmet features the famous Pink Floyd photograph showing two suited men shaking hands, with one on fire. The sides of the helmet feature Rossi’ number ’46’ in yellow.

Aldo Drudi described the helmet: “this year’s idea is very simple: the album cover dominates the crown of the helmet. Two robotic hands unite the four elements in the background”.

Valentino Rossi Misano 2013

The ‘Wish You Were Here’ reference is a clear message from Rossi to his good friend Marco Simoncelli, and the lyrics in the song are also pertinent to men who make their living risking their lives going round the same tracks every year during the MotoGP season:

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
And how we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here

Official description of the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi ‘Wish’ helmet:
Valentino Rossi’s dedication is very closely linked to the musical meaning of the images on the helmet. Wish you were here is an album about the absence of man, sad and lost in what Gilmour and waters define as the “society of machines”. There is no doubt that the absence of Marco Simoncelli has been felt even more strongly at his “home track” which was in fact named after him a few months after his tragic death.

This limited edition reproduces the graphics On Valentino’s race helmet except for the text “wish you were here” and visor components / accessories. The M of the monster energy logo is shown with his stylised flames on the chin guard and sides of the helmet.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi SoleLuna Helmet

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi SoleLuna Helmet

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi SoleLuna Helmet

This is the latest Valentino Rossi design from AGV helmets, now available in their AGV Corsa range.

The design is called ‘Soleluna’ and it is a replica of the primary helmet design that Valentino Rossi has been racing with during the 2015 and 2015 MotoGP seasons.

The Soleluna was also released as a Limited Edition complete with Rossi’s full Monster Energy sponsorship logos in the premium AGV Pista GP range.

The Soleluna was designed by Aldo Drudi, who is responsible for all of Valentino Rossi’s helmet designs throughout his career. It features the dual motifs of a Sun and a Moon, that Valentino Rossi has had featured on pretty much all of his helmets – the Sun and the Moon are supposed to represent the two sides of Valentino’s personality. The Sun is featured at the front of the helmet and rises up above the visor, and the rays of the sun spread back towards the rear of the helmet, where they cross over a dark crescent moon that is positioned directly at the rear.

On each side of the base of the helmet, Rossi’s race number ’46’ can be seen.

Valentino Rossi 2014

This is an incredible looking lid that is bursting with colour and life, and is really eye-catching on the road.

This has become an iconic Valentino Rossi helmet design, and it takes inspiration from two other of Rossi’s helmets, the ‘Elements‘ and the ‘5 Continents‘, that also featured a similar layout of having the Sun at the front and the Moon at the rear.

Valentino Rossi had some fun with this iconic design during the 2013 MotoGP test sessions and flipped the design, so the Moon was at the front and the rear featured the Sun and a graphic of Valentino’s face peering out of the visor – check it out here.

The AGV Corsa range is a bit more affordable than the Pista GP range and it is a much more forgiving and flexible helmet to ensure it is suitable for everyday road use, but it still retains many of the premium features that you would get in the Pista range. Make no mistake this is a quality helmet that equally at on the road as it is at high speed track days.

Official description of the Valentino Rossi Soleluna Corsa helmet: Featuring a modern take on the classic Sun / Moon Valentino Rossi VR46 graphics, the AGV Corsa Sole Luna Helmet combines the performance of the Pista GP with road-riding features such as adjustable ventilation and improved comfort, without sacrificing the performance standards of the GP model.

The AGV Corsa Helmet has been awarded a Five Star SHARP certification. SHARP (Safety Helmet and Assessment Rating Programme) is the UK Department of Transportation’s independent helmet evaluation system and a 5 Star Rating represents the highest echelon of protection, the Corsa is now listed among the safest helmets in the world.

Built in conjunction with Valentino Rossi and tested at the highest levels. The Corsa is not a full carbon fiber shell but the shell shape, aerodynamics, ventilation and eye-port improvements will be shared cross platform with the Pista GP Helmet.

Key improvements of the Corsa compared to the GP Tech:

  • Weight savings over the GP-Tech to be announced
  • 193% more ventilation surface area
  • 71% smaller visor movement area
  • 48% less HIC index standard (Head Injury Criterion)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015 helmet (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015 helmet (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015 helmet (Limited Edition)

True to form, Valentino Rossi unveiled a special helmet design on Saturday morning of his home Italian MotoGP at Mugello in 2015, and the design has now been made available from AGV.

This is the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015 helmet, which is also sometimes known as the Valentino Rossi ‘Mirror’ helmet or the ‘Solar Power’ helmet, or even the ‘Yellow Energy’ helmet.

Rossi wore this helmet design for the 2015 Mugello MotoGP, and the chrome mirror finish on the top of the helmet makes it one of Rossi’s most striking helmet designs. This design is pretty simplistic when compared with previous designs that Valentino has worn for the Mugello MotoGP, but it is equally as striking as the ones that have gone before it in the past.

The helmet was designed by Aldo Drudi and it was supposed to represent how Rossi’s energy rises during the race weekend as he feeds of the energy of the fans, before it reaches its maximum level for race day.

The chin and cheeks of the helmet have a blue design that is supposed to represent a solar panel, and the rear of the helmet features six different energy levels, starting at ‘red’ for the first free practice session before rising all the way to green and eventually ‘yellow’, the highest level, for race day.

Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015

The right hand side of the helmet has the words ‘Energia Rinnovabile’, which basically means renewable energy, running round the rim of the visor, while the left hand side has the words ‘Yellow Energy’ in the same place. The top of the helmet had a mirror effect to reflect back and mirror all the fans the crowd into the hills of the Mugello circuit.

AGV released a statement about the design that reads:

During a typical race weekend, ‘The Doctor’s’ energy level steadily rises until attaining its peak in time for Sunday’s race. To represent this phenomenon, the rear of his 2015 Mugello helmet reflects six different energy levels, beginning with the bright red of the first free practice and advancing session by session to the maximum level—Vale’s signature yellow—just in time for him to line up on the starting grid.

Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015

AGV have released this stunning Valentino Rossi race replica in the Corsa range – the Corsa helmet range sits between the AGV K3 SV and the premium Pista GP range, making it more affordable than the Pista. The Corsa takes many of the premium features from the Pista, but it is more engineered for everyday street and road use than the Pista.

Official Description of the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Mugello 2015 (Mirror) helmet:
The Corsa is a supersport helmet which combines the performance of the Pista GP with road-going characteristics such as adjustable ventilation and improved comfort without having to forget the performance standards of the GP version.

Fitted with a double-D retention system, the outer shell is made up of SSL layers (Aramid and glass fibers) and is available in four sizes. The design is intended to cut to the minimum any interference with the racing suit and protective hump and to optimize safety even at high speed.

The spoiler has been designed to detach from the helmet in the event of an accident to increase the passive safety of the helmet. The visor component area has been reduced by 71% compared with the GP Tech and this allows the space saved to be used to increase the thickness of the impact absorption material with all the safety benefits that brings. The visor can easily be removed as can the washable inner components. To provide improved comfort, the surfaces in direct contact with the head are seamless and the fit can be optimized with special additional padding to the cheeks and back of the neck. Designed to maximize comfort, ergonomics, safety and aerodynamics.

Made in Italy and protective of the environment: the Corsa is designed and made in Italy by highly qualified craftsmen using the very latest technology. These helmets are manufactured using the best technologies with great effort invested in protecting the environment. Waterjet technology is used to cut the carbon fiber shells, the painting system uses eco-compatible water-based paints and a dust suppression / residue treatment system is in operation throughout the entire factory.

Extreme Standards Helmets is the name of the revolutionary new range of AGV helmets which includes the Corsa. It is based on the “human engineering” concept and applies to a new design process which starts from the components that are in direct contact with the head and gradually progresses to the outer shell. As a result, the structural shapes imitate the area of contact, thus providing greater safety and smaller dimensions.

Features:

  • Shell: SSL (Super Super Light) in composite fiber, Aramid and carbon fiber.
  • Number of shells: 4 shell sizes.
  • Fabric: Breathable Lycra® lining and Shalimar® fabric with sanitizing treatment.
  • Liners: Fully removable and washable inner liners.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Turtle helmet (Mugello 2013)

AGV Corsa Turtle Rossi Helmet

AGV Corsa Turtle Rossi Helmet

MotoGP might be unpredictable, but one thing can always be counted on – Valentino Rossi will bring a custom helmet design to the Mugello MotoGP round, and it is usually worth the wait.

Over the years we have seen designs as iconic as ‘My Face‘, the ‘Icon‘ helmet, and many more, and in 2013, Rossi chose a turtle design as the subject for his Mugello helmet.

This helmet is also known as the “Tartaruga Mugello 2013” helmet or just simply “Tartaruga”. This helmet is a strictly Limited Edition in the COrsa range, but it can also be picked up in the more affordable AGV K3 range.

Designed by Aldo Drudi, the helmet features a giant cartoon turtle sat on the top of the helmet, with its eyes facing forwards.

The turtle was significant for a number of reasons – it was the first racing mascot that Valentino adopted when he was racing minimotos as a child, and he raced with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toy stuck to the back of his helmet. Rossi also has a small turtle tattoo on his hip.

Valentino Rossi Mugello MotoGP 2013

The turtle design had another meaning, and it was intended as a joke to poke fun at the fact that Rossi had not been fast enough that season and that he was struggling to keep up with Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, and Marc Marquez. There is a reference to this on the side of the helmet where four stick figures can be seen running in a group, with the one at the back in yellow (Valentino Rossi) trying to catch up with the other three.

This helmet design is now available in the excellent AGV Corsa range. The Corsa is a premium helmet that sits between the AGV K3 range and the top level Pista GP helmet. Think of the AGV Corsa as a super-sport helmet that takes some of the best race inspired elements from the Pista GP and gives them more flexibility, and the comfort that is required for a road helmet.

Official description of the “Tartaruga Mugello 2013” helmet:

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi VR46 Helmet

AGV Corsa VR46 Blue Helmet

AGV Corsa VR46 Blue Helmet

This is the AGV Corsa VR46 helmet.

This is a unique Valentino Rossi helmet from AGV, as it isn’t actually based on any previous helmet design that he has raced in. The helmet is more of a tribute to the most famous rider that AGV creates helmets for.

It comes available in blue or black, and features a large Rossi number 46 logo in yellow on either side of the helmet. The top of the helmet also features ’46’ above the visor, with a coloured stripe that runs from the chin to the rear of the helmet (yellow on the blue version, and white on the black version.)

This a clean looking design, and makes a nice alternative for someone that wants a Rossi themed helmet, but may not want the frantic and busy graphical designs of the race replicas.

The AGV Corsa is a street helmet that basically takes the best features of the AGV Pista, but is more forgiving and flexible making it perfect for everyday use (which still be a solid candidate for track days).

Official AGV VR46 helmet description:

The carbon-fibre/glass-fibre/aramid SSL (Super Super Light) shell was designed using FEM techniques and features EPS internal ducts in the shell to provide a small, light helmet which is both comfortable and extremely safe. The result is a helmet that is significantly superior than the limits set by ECE standards and that weighs just 1350 g* in MS size.

The Lycra® and Shalimar® sanitised internal components are fully adjustable due to the fact that the position and depth of the crown pad can be modified as can the thickness of the cheek pads. The combination of these solutions, which are covered by three separate patents, make the Corsa fit the different cranial shapes as never before .

Safety:
Outer shell in 4 sizes made from layers of SSL (fibreglass and aramid fibres);
Inner shell in EPS in 4 sizes;
Shell and EPS dimensions optimized using the FEM (Finite Elements Analysis) system.

Design:
Designed to maximise comfort, ergonomics, safety and aerodynamics.
Designed to minimise interference with racing suits and protective speed humps.

Ventilation / Aerodynamics:
IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with wide channels hollowed directly in the shell and holes that direct air flow to the rider’s head.
Ventilation system designed and optimised in a wind tunnel, comprising 4 front air intakes (3 at the front and one on the chinguard) and 2 rear extractors;
Air vents with open/close mechanism. Total surface area of air intakes 193% larger than on the GP-Tech;
Large rear spoiler optimised in a wind tunnel to maximise aerodynamic performances and ventilation even at high speed. Spoiler designed to detach from the helmet in the event of an accident to increase the passive safety of the helmet.

Visor/ Visor mechanism:
New visor mechanism in metal with swivel opening. Rapid visor release system requiring no tools and allowing visor to be removed and replaced in seconds. Surface of the visor mechanism reduced by 71% compared to the GP-Tech;
Can be fitted with an external screw at bottom of the mechanism which reduces the risk of the visor detaching in the event of a fall (with Race screw kit). Visor front micro-lock system that reduces the risk of accidental opening, also in the event of an accident.
Scratch resistant, anti-fog RACE visor (4 layers) with a wide viewing angle and 100% protection against UV rays. Comes ready for tear-offs and with tear-off film kits.
The visor meets Class 1 optical standards and is free from visual distortion with a thickness up to 3.3 mm for extra protection;
The field of vision is 15° wider than on the GP-Tech and its main rivals and has been optimised for a rider lying over the tank. Overall field of vision increased by about 9% compared to the GP-Tech and the main rivals.

Inner Liners:
Removable nose guard;
Removable windproof chin strap protection;
Fully removable and washable inner liners
Breathable, micro-perforated Lycra® crown pad with concave 3D structure that is pre-shaped in a single piece to match shape of the head. Comes with no stitching in sensitive areas and differentiated density foam padding. Option of personalising the fit of the crown pad: Can be customised at the area around the back of the neck with the insertion of a removable foam pad. Sanitised 3D Shalimar® cheek pads with differentiated density foam and integral neck roll for improved comfort and sound-proofing; Inner liners covered by three patents; The fit of the cheek pads can be personalised
Double D retention system.

Pinlock Visor inclusive

This is a good helmet design for those riders wanting someting a bit different, Valentino Rossi replicas are a failry common site on the streets, so this Rossi inspired helmet makes a nice diversion and a good alternative from the usual ‘5 Continents’ and ‘Elements’ helmet design that you see on the roads.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Double Face Helmet (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Double Face Helmet, which is now available as a limited edition.

This is one of the strangest and most inventive of Valentino Rossi’s helmet designs. It was first worn for the 2013 Winter test sessions, and it basically takes Valentino’s usual Sun and Moon helmet design (Soleluna) and flips it by 180 degrees. But that is not all, to create the full illusion of the flip, the rear of the helmet has a photo of Rossi’s face peering out of a visor, giving the impression that Rossi is both looking out the front of the helmet (through his visor) and also through the back…..watching closely those riders gaining on him.

Remember, this is a limited edition and it probably won’t come into production in one of the entry level AGV ranges (like the K3), so if you want to pick up this inventive but bizarre Rossi design then you can find the places that still have stock at the bottom of this page.

The AGV Corsa is a great helmet that basically takes the race ready features of the high-end AGV Pista range, and combines them with a more forgiving feature set and shell that is more suitable for road use.

The AGV Corsa is an aggressive looking race replica that can be used on the track, but it is ideally created for day to day street use. The shape is basically identical to the AGV Pista, and it also uses similar aerodynamics and venting syatmes that you get on the Pista.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013 is a stunning looking lid.

Official Description:

The all new AGV Corsa Helmet is constructed from SSL (Super-Super-Light) Carbon-Kevlar and is based on same helmet worn by the top class Moto GP rider Valentino Rossi (Pista GP).

With an all new shell shape and aerodynamically tested venting system hollowed directly in the shell, the AGV Corsa helmet longs to be at the track. The AGV Corsa has a Cool Max removable and washable interior with hygienic treatment.

It has a Double D retention system and a clear, flat, anti-scratch, Pinlock ready polycarbonate race 2 visor with XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) and tear-off system.

  • SSL (Super Super Light) composite fiber, Kevlar® and carbon fiber shell
  • Four shell sizes
  • IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) with wide ducts hollowed into shell
  • Scratch-resistant visor with wide field of vision with tear-off pins, ready and suitable for tear-off shields
  • Visor is class 1 optical standard approved for excellent vision
  • XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) so you can replace the shield in seconds without the use of tools
  • The field of vision is 15 degrees wider and the overall visor window area has been increased by 9% compared to the previous helmet, without compromising its level of protection
  • The basic visor movement area has been reduced by 71% compared to the GP-Tech helmet, this allows use of the space saved to increase the thickness of the absorption material, benefiting safety
  • Breathable Lycra® micro-porous lining and Dry-Comfort® fabric with sanitizing treatment, fully removable and washable
  • Padding has a 3-D concave structure which is pre-shaped according to the morphological characteristics of the head, while the surfaces in direct contact with the head are free from stitching for guaranteed comfort

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013 (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013 (Limited Edition)

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013 (Limited Edition)

This is the AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter test 2013 helmet.

This Limited Edition is a race replica of the helmet design that Rossi wore during the winter test period upon his return to Yamaha, after a difficult two years at Ducati.

This is a relatively low-key and understated design by Valentino Rossi standards, although the simplicity still makes it striking to look at. The helmet features a yellow number ’46’ placed directly at the front, with a metallic grey and black rear that features the Sun and Moon logos.

The rear of the helmet features a Japanese character representing the word ‘Kendo’. This is a Japanese phrase that is used to convey an intense emotion. It is said that Rossi first encountered the phrase when he met Masao Furusawa, the Executive Officer of Engineering Operations at Yamaha, when he joined Yamaha for the first time in 2004. The symbol seen on this design was designed by Masao Furusawa’s wife.

AGV Corsa Valentino Rossi Winter Test 2013 (Limited Edition)

This Valentino Rossi replica is a little bit different to the usual ones that you see on the street, and you probably won’t see many of them out of the roads as this is being made as a limited edition on the AGV Corsa range.

The AGV Corsa is basically AGV’s street version of their top of the line Pista helmet range. Whilst the Pista is still suitable for road wear, it is primarily a top range race helmet. The Corsa takes many of the features that you will find in the Pista and incorporates them into a versatile road helmet. The Corsa shares the same shell shape, aerodynamics, ventilation and eye port improvements as the GP-Tech helmet – so you know you are getting quality.

The AGV Corsa range sits between the AGV K3 range and the AGV Pista, making it slightly more affordable than the premium AGV range. It is pretty much the replacement model for the AGV GP-Tech.
